Srikanth

Srikanth, directed by Tushar Hiranandani, is a biopic that chronicles the life of Srikanth Bolla, a visually-impaired entrepreneur who overcame immense challenges to achieve success.

The film delves into Srikanth’s journey from a small village in Andhra Pradesh to becoming the founder of Bollant Industries, a company that provides employment opportunities to people with disabilities.

The pacing is well-balanced, and the dialogues are thoughtfully written, reflecting the protagonist’s internal and external conflicts. The cinematography is visually appealing, particularly in its use of light and shadow. The music complements the narrative, with a score that enhances the emotional undertones of the story.

What I loved most about the film was the beautifully-portrayed student-teacher relationship between Rajkummar Rao and Jyothika.

The film deals with the themes of perseverance and inclusivity and the importance of believing in oneself, leaving a lasting impact on the audience.

In A.A. Milne‘s Hundred Acre Wood, a well-loved book of children’s tales, Christopher Robin imparts timeless wisdom to his dear friend Winnie the Pooh, saying, “You are braver than you believe, you are stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” These seemingly simple yet profoundly insightful words carry invaluable life lessons.

These attributes of self-belief, courage, determination and passion were vividly on display in India’s remarkable space missions — Chandrayaan 3 and Aditya L1. These missions are the success stories that manifest the indomitable spirit and unwavering dedication of our space scientists.

Chandrayaan 3, the third mission of India‘s lunar exploration programme, reveals the nation‘s commitment to exploring the unknown. The scientists and the engineers behind this mission displayed immense courage and confidence by embarking on the challenging journey of Chandrayaan to the moon. Despite setbacks and failures in the previous missions, they demonstrated resilience and strength beyond measure, and were determined to learn from past experiences and conquer new frontiers. The successful launch and the performance of Chandrayaan 3 stand as a confirmation of and tribute to their iron determination and capabilities proving once again that our space scientists are indeed smarter than they thought.

Aditya L1, India‘s first mission to study the sun, further manifests the nation’s scientific prowess. The mission‘s ambitious objectives demanded unwavering determination and passion from the scientists. Their tireless efforts and unyielding commitment to unravelling the mysteries of the sun go to prove that they are all stronger than they seemed.

When we commemorate Mahatma Gandhi‘s birthday on October 2, we are reminded of another golden period in India’s history that personifies the values of truth and non-vilolence along with fearlessness and persistence. On October 31st, we also honour Sardar Vallabhai Patel, who, by sheer tenacity and diplomatic skills, united all kingdoms of the country and forged them into a great single nation. Both of them are enduring examples of conviction and determination to reach their objectives.

In this issue of The Teenager Today, we also read other stories of Aditi Gopichand, the world champion in archery, the 17-year-old Devananda who selflessly donated her liver, and Jamie Miller, a pop singer, are just a few examples of young people who are speaking out bravely for a change in our thinking and goals.

The organisers of All About Music were very gracious to invite TTT to join as a partner in their annual event, where we encountered a lot of young musicians with a similar level of passion and persistence. The saying, “You are smarter than you think” comes to mind when we think about these people. In the same way, if we have self-belief, courage, commitment, and enthusiasm, we can all embark on our own incredible adventures and make a major difference in the world.

Believe You Are Really Someone https://theteenagertoday.com/believe-you-are-really-someone/ Fri, 06 Oct 2023 09:14:47 +0000 https://theteenagertoday.com/?p=26182 With self-belief you become someone who can chase what he hopes for. If you want to do well in life, you must believe in yourself.

All you have and achieve in your life is a result of your belief in yourself. That belief unlocks boundless potentialities in your life. Self-belief is about trusting your own verdict and feeling comfortable with your capabilities. This can bring benefits to all areas of life. Self-belief is the difference between feeling unstoppable and feeling scared out of your wits. This makes you think lucidly and logically. You can frame sensible solutions to your problems if you have a strong belief in yourself.

With self-belief you become someone who can chase what he hopes for. It is an open secret that if you want to do well in life, you must believe in yourself. Your interior faith will create your external results. If you lack self-belief you will find it difficult to become efficacious. The way you feel about yourself greatly influences how you live. “Believe in yourself, and the rest will fall into place. Have faith in your own abilities, work hard and there is nothing you cannot accomplish,” says Brad Henry.

Not everyone is born with an in-built sense of self-belief. Building self-belief is a journey. If you believe in yourself, you have won half the battle. Mark Twain once said, “The worst loneliness is to not be comfortable with yourself.”

Five Ways to Instantly Boost Confidence and Self-belief https://theteenagertoday.com/five-ways-to-instantly-boost-confidence-and-self-belief/ Wed, 03 Aug 2022 10:01:35 +0000 https://theteenagertoday.com/?p=22923 Confidence is a state of mind and body; it’s also a habit — a habit that can be learned and turned on at will.

Many people think that being confident means speaking in a massive auditorium or making a big career choice. Whereas the confidence people experience in everyday life can be something as simple as choosing the clothes you wear with confidence. There’s no worry present — just a decisive, simple, effortless, determined act of picking out the items that you want to wear. The word ‘confidence’ comes from Latin confidentia and confidere which means to ‘to have full trust’.

My definition of confidence is being comfortable in your own skin — authentic and natural. Just being yourself. Truly confident people are authentically themselves and they don’t need to pretend to be someone they are not — they feel perfectly good enough just the way they are.

Being confident helps us deal with unknown situations and uncertainty. This may be uncertainty about speaking in front of people, exams, what to study or what to wear. So confidence and self-belief are what we really need.

Confidence is a state of mind and body; it’s also a habit — a habit that can be learned and turned on at will. Here are five tools to give you inner self-confidence and a strong belief in yourself and your abilities to handle life’s challenges. Once you have practised these tools and techniques, you will be able to tap into your natural confidence whenever you want. You will be able to walk into a room, give a presentation, interview or handle a challenging situation with total self-confidence.

Sometimes life is tricky,
Sometimes things go wrong.
Sometimes you feel out of the place,
Or as if you don’t belong.
Sometimes bad things happen,
You will even feel scared;
But focus on the positive side,
Seek them, of course they will be there.
When your brain won’t stop buzzing,
And you can’t sleep at night.
Step out of the darkness,
And look into the bright light.
The awful things won’t vanish,
But don’t let them consume.
That just makes you miserable.
And dull, and gloom.
So focus on your blessings,
And let them shine through.
Don’t let the negatives consume you,
Just be what defines you!

Believe in yourself https://theteenagertoday.com/believe-in-yourself/ Mon, 31 May 2021 05:20:28 +0000 http://theteenagertoday.com/?p=20066 Successful people don’t care whether the world believes them or not. They have complete faith in their capability and in what they are doing.

Your beliefs, to a great extent, make you or break you! We are driven by our beliefs and values, every day. Mentally strong people don’t give negative people power over them. They refuse to blame others for holding them back or dragging them down.

Successful people don’t care whether the world believes them or not. They have complete faith in their capability and in what they are doing. If you don’t believe in yourself, who else will? If you believe something is possible and have hope, then you will not quit. If you have hope, you will take action and once you take action, you’re on the path to success.

Successful people don’t care whether the world believes them or not. They have complete faith in their capability and in what they are doing. If you don’t believe in yourself, who else will? If you believe something is possible and have hope, then you will not quit. If you have hope, you will take action and once you take action, you’re on the path to success.

Albert Einstein said, “Everybody is a genius. If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will have to live its whole life believing that it is stupid!” We all have our strengths and weaknesses. Someone may be a brilliant musician, but a dreadful cook. Neither quality defines their core worth. Recognize your strengths and the feelings of confidence they engender, especially in times of doubt.

Your thoughts become your feelings and words, your feelings and words become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your character, and your character becomes your destiny. Don’t let others’ opinions about you become your reality.

There are many people who believe that they are doomed to poverty and failure because they believe in their fate and not destiny. They become the creators of their misfortunes, because of their negative beliefs, which is picked up by the subconscious mind, and translated into its physical equivalent.

Beliefs are thoughts held to be true. Beliefs are not true or false, right or wrong; they are just your strong opinion. We don’t see the world as it is; we see the world as we are. Beliefs can be empowering or disempowering. To identify your beliefs, simply look at your life. You will always act, or choose not to act, in accordance with your predominant beliefs, and those actions create your results. Your beliefs are not based on actual experiences, rather on your personal interpretations or misinterpretations of those experiences.

Who’s the most important person in your life? https://theteenagertoday.com/whos-the-most-important-person-in-your-life/ Thu, 23 Aug 2018 09:40:35 +0000 http://theteenagertoday.com/?p=11249 We are rightfully taught to value, respect and serve others, and are rather appreciated for it. If only there was a ‘Life for Dummies’ handbook with pinpointed instructions for a meaningful life, one that tells you that you are worth it and that it’s okay if things are less than perfect because you nonetheless, are. There are also the realities of life — like school, college, examinations, sports, friendships, family, and career (some day). Hence what the world thinks about you becomes important, too. Yet, nobody can make you feel worthless without your permission. So when you wonder why you’re not good enough, there are some more questions the answers of which might be able to guide you.

Gauging how much you believe in yourself

  • Am I comfortable in my skin?
  • Is this what I should do or something I want to?
  • Do I need to be part of that cool group to be cool?
  • Do they even want me?
  • Does my opinion count at all?
  • Am I worthy of his/ her love?
  • Am I good enough?
  • Will they like me?
  • Will I fit?

Who is the most important person in your life?

You may have heard the following safety instructions given by flight attendants before the plane takes off: “In the event of decreased cabin pressure, oxygen masks will automatically drop down from the overhead panel. Secure the mask on your face firmly, and breathe normally. Please make sure to wear your own mask before helping anyone else.”

We are a society that duly applauds selflessness. We are rightfully taught to value, respect and serve others, and are rather appreciated for it. But how can we do all of this for another when we don’t place a fair value on our own self? Why do we feel we’re not good enough, and then make the world bash us for the same?

Charity begins at home.

Extraordinary

The deceptively small ‘extra’ bit transforms the conventional into the extraordinary. That bit is not trivial but isn’t impossible either. From ability, knack, skill, aptitude and potential, few are innate endowments. Most individuals have to fight their way through life to make their mark. But it’s really the tiny leap that categorizes people as special. Knowing the magnitude of your own capability can be an inspiration to climb to heights that you once couldn’t imagine. Who defines the maximal limit of your talent? Some counts are factual: people don’t usually live beyond 100 to 110 years; man cannot fly like a bird, or reproduce by himself for instance. What is unattainable obviously looks super human. Only when accomplished does it become human capacity. If only there was a method of identifying and building on our own potential to grow beyond what we thought we were capable of at this current moment. Life isn’t really a football game. You don’t need to be aware of all the figures to score a point before the game is over? Who’s keeping count anyways?
If all you can do is crawl, start crawling. — Rumi

Intelligence

Intelligence is an ability to think rationally and target fitting and beneficial outcomes through behaviour and actions. Man has a wide range of cognitive abilities, each working wonders for the self as well as the world, although each of them cannot be correlated. Thus it’s impossible to compare any two individuals in all respects and comment on who’s the better of the lot. Every participant can’t win the beauty pageant; the whole class cannot secure the first rank and everyone cannot be a best friend. The wise one essentially knows his or her aptitude and uses it to the fullest to make the most of it in this lifetime. Intelligence then becomes less about the quantum of information and more focused on the soundness in judgment to use that information rightly. What we commonly see today is a bunch of very intelligent people unable to reach common ground on anything at all!
