We all love our special snacks, irrespective of how odd it might look to others. After all ‘weird’ and ‘food’ go together very well indeed, as people across the world have proved all along. Here’s a look at some of the most insane food enjoyed in different places.
An ice-cream like no other
This ice-cream is far from the kind you’ve tasted so far. Akutaq, a special delicacy from Alaska, has none of the milk, sugar and delicious flavours that you associate with your favourite ice-cream. Think of a dessert made with animal fat or fish flakes, lots of seal oil, snow and berries. The word ‘Akutaq’ means ‘mix them together’ — ‘them’ being any kind of animal fat, lard and berries you can find. This is one ice-cream you won’t worry about sharing with others!
