It has no affection for the body.
It is eternal!
It is the purest … beyond your imagination.
It is beyond the boundaries of this selfish world,
It knows the way to the other irrespective of the physical selection;
And it is all a matter of time,
In the world with no one alive.
At the point whenever the journey ends,
Perceiving the shape of the immortal everywhere …
The soul completes itself as usual, for eternity!

There are some nights I still think about you,
Sometimes there are no answers to my questions.
I often think about the unspoken words between us
The silence that engulfed us through the aching nights
You were too deeply loved by my soul
So deep that I drowned in it.
Days passed, people came and went
Still no one could replace your presence.
Love often brought the dead ones alive but sometimes it killed the living ones.
Letting them go is a part of loving someone
It is also a part that kills the alive.
I sometimes wonder, how many of us are actually alive?

Distant by sea, but united by sky,
We are the same, for we laugh and cry.
No one in this world ever thought it to be,
But we are all the same, I see.
We all lie and conceal,
To hide when we hurt and bleed.
We all laugh and say “I am fine”,
We show ourselves to be on cloud nine.
But examining our hearts under the microscope of emotion,
“We are fine” was unreal, is the conclusion.
We all smile to fill that hole,
The hollow signifying a broken heart and wounded soul.

Love is thy enemy,
An uninvited guest,
It makes you weak,
Fragile, and emotional,
It makes you happy,
It gives life to your dark soul,
It gives you hope,
It gives you someone,
Someone you care about,
Someone whom you love,
Someone, who may not reciprocate,
Someone, whom you’ll lose eventually,
Someone, who makes you happy,
Breaks your mask of toughness,
Breaks your character,
Making you smile at random,
Everything reminding you of her,
Her memories, her face,
That smile,
That expression on her face,
Love songs suddenly become so appealing,
Listening on repeat,
Romantic movies so relatable,
Daydreaming so prominent,
Tears, so common,
Of joy, and sorrow,
Love is thy enemy,
Leaving you crying at the end…

The drama of dreams https://theteenagertoday.com/the-drama-of-dreams/ Sat, 08 May 2021 03:51:48 +0000 http://theteenagertoday.com/?p=19941 My dreams are my soul. They are the foundation of who I am; of whom I want to be. They are the reason for the light in my eyes and drive in my heart.

“You have to dream before your dreams can come true.” — A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

Dreams to me have always been like cinema — larger than life. It is almost an escape from the real world I live in. I learned that it is okay to enjoy the escape, but it got tough when my reality began to engender feelings of disappointment.

2020 was strange and uncertain for all of us. But it taught me something very valuable — the difference between dreams and ambition. It’s a fine line, a blurry one. While a dream comforts, it lacks purpose. Ambition evokes ardour but puts you at risk of burnout. A dream encourages ambition; but I wonder if ambition finds a place in one’s dreams?

My mother has always favoured a life of realism, staying pragmatic, and staying within the realms of results and consequences. But I beg to differ.

Mother, oh mother!
How do I convey?
Through one dream or another,
I shall find my way.

My dreams are my soul. They are the foundation of who I am; of whom I want to be. They are the reason for the light in my eyes and drive in my heart.

My dreams are my soul. They are the foundation of who I am; of whom I want to be. They are the reason for the light in my eyes and drive in my heart.

I am a dreamer, an emotional wanderer. I watch myself fly without wings, fight without failures, and imagine a life beyond.

When life seems grey
Stuck between work and play,
The forecast on the other side seems okay.
An escape, a haven, whatever you say,
A detour from reality is the plan for today!

My perception of the word ‘dream’ is not the same as it was a few years ago. There is no pressure to fulfil these dreams, yet they push me in ways no external motivation can. They bring out a sense of hope and have even contributed to self-confidence. Having accepted the fact that they are indeed my escape, I look forward to life more freely. My dreams don’t bind me with expectations, they push me to upgrade my reality.

Regardless of what your dreams mean to you — an escape or the fuel to your ambition — I urge you to keep dreaming.

Dreams show a world beyond your inhibitions and restore faith.

And like John Maxwell said, “Goals may give focus, but dreams give power.”

When you ask someone about what comes to his/her mind when they hear the term ‘depression’, they will give another word as a descriptor and it’s a three-letter word. If you guessed it right then you know what’s really going on. The three-letter word is ‘sad’.

Sad is what comes to most people’s minds when you say ‘depression’, but how many of us know that it is more than being sad? That it’s a cave a person is trapped in where he/she can see no cracks of lights or possible way out to the outside world. No sunlight reaches him/her, no proper air to breathe in, no human connection to make her/him feel alive.

A little kindness can work wonders on someone’s aching soul.

How many of us punish our own selves by confining to such caves just because of the fear of stigma attached around seeking help or worried about what others might think or say when they find out. They might call us “weak” or worse, what if our friends or relatives call us “insane”?

A person whom I dearly admire once said: “Your life isn’t yours if you care too much for what others think of you!”

There are millions of people around the globe going through depression and it does kill. It’s not something you or your friend or your loved ones make up in their heads. It’s not like they planned or made a choice of suffering from this problem.

Many people fail to recognise depression as a real disease. The reason is because it’s an invisible disease. A person suffering from depression might appear quite right physically but there might be a war raging inside their heads.

To some of us it might seem as though that very person is just being lazy but it is loneliness disguised as laziness. We might never really know what a person is going through but we must understand, and be kind. A simple hug can save a person’s life.

Healing can start with the feeling of being safe. That’s why it’s necessary to check on our loved ones who are suffering from depression. Encourage them to reach out when they need help. A little kindness can work wonders on someone’s aching soul.

When eyes see beauty,
And ears hear laughter,
When the senses awaken to the day’s fragrances,
When mouths speak only kind and guiding words.
When arms embrace,
When hands help,
When fingers no longer point,
When legs march only for peace,
When feet dance in joy,
When minds unite to create good,
And there is respect for all,
Then the heart and soul will sing with love.

The vibrant smiling flowers and the bright shining stars
Make me happy in my darkest hours.
The beautifully drizzling drops of rain
With which all my sorrows and pains are drained.
The arresting fragrance of the rain-wet soil
Washes away a whole day’s turmoil.
The very soothing coo of the dove,
Brings to us peace and teaches the art of love.

I follow the rainbow
To reach my horizon
A new hope is always born
With the glow of the dawn.

Your beauty has left me struck with wonder
I’m even thrilled to listen to the sound of thunder
The gleeful fluttering of butterflies
Could there be anything more pleasurable to my eyes
Being with you relieves me of all my sorrow
Your light paves the way for an illuminated tomorrow!

Sitting alone and talking to your own self is a rare thing.
We normally search for a companion in lonely times.
And honestly it’s easy to chat, when you have options like social media.
In this noisy world, where have we been lost?

Chatting to friends is more important than sitting with parents.
The cell phone is source of oxygen, whereas real air has become artificial.

Chatting to friends is more important than sitting with parents.
The cell phone is source of oxygen, whereas real air has become artificial.
DJ, pubs, parties, alcohol are fancy trends that fulfil our weekends.
Sitting and talking about old times has no essence left.
In this noisy world, where have we been lost?

With soft music, sipping a cup of tea, feeling the breeze of the rising sun, begin your day.
Definitely in this crowded noise, you will find your music,
Just give a thought or have a real talk than a momentary one.
And don’t forget to talk to yourself before signing off for the day!

Couldn’t you just call me?
There were ill omens around me.
I had a feeling of danger,
But you chose to act as a stranger.
Inside I knew you cared,
But to see me in pain you dared.
Now you lay on the ground,
With dark red bloodstains all around.
Seeing this sight my heart broke,
Thinking that it’s my worst mistake,
Walking slowly with shivering steps,
I walked towards you in distress,
Not knowing how to react,
I just held your hand and sat.
Seeing me you became restless,
To speak you tried your best,
But all I saw were deadly wounds on your face,
I could feel your heart catching pace.
Tears were rolling down my eyes,
I was helpless to even rise,
When suddenly I heard you speak,
And all you said were those three words in brief.
Suddenly it felt like I had conquered the universe,
But then it was too late for you to converse.
And all I could do was regret,
‘Cause never again I would indeed get,
Such a caring soul in life again.
