Be exam savvy

The month of March is exam time. Students are tempted to look for short-cuts and hunt for examination guides. The real motive of exams is not to test your knowledge, but to discover how brilliant and intelligent you really are.

Studying intelligently will help you pass the exams as well as increase your knowledge and make you capable of fulfilling your dreams of success and happiness in life. Unfortunately, even students who are eager and ready to do their best sometimes lack proper guidance and assistance in the challenging task of facing the demands of examination in school and college.

A student’s success in studies is not measured merely by their passing in examinations but how they bounce back even when they hit the bottom.  It is not going to be easy but it is going to be worth it. Challenges are what make life interesting. Overcoming them is what makes life meaningful and happy. George Bernard Shaw, an Irish playwright said, “When I was young I observed that nine out of ten things I did were failures, so I did ten times more work”.

“The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step”, goes a Chinese proverb. Most students think that learning comes automatically from reading books and listening to lectures. Looking for achievements without hard work is like trying to harvest where you haven’t planted. Do not study because you have to, but study because you want to acquire knowledge and you are convinced that knowledge is power, and because you want to fortify your knowledge power that will enhance your all-round growth which nobody can take away from you.

Many complain that they don’t have enough time to study. But you have exactly the same number of hours per day that Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Swami Vivekananda, Rabindranath Tagore, and all other great persons had. The secrets and shortcuts to success in examinations are to study well and systematically which will help you achieve the success you want to reach, which is the result of preparation and hard work including learning from your failures. Be on your guard against procrastination, the biggest thief of time.

Believe in yourself and back it up with hard work and commitment and you will never need to yearn for luck rather you will create your own destiny. We at TTT wish you all, our dear students, the very best in your exams. All you have to do is to be disciplined in life, have right planning for your study time and syllabus with determination and perseverance that will make you exam savvy.
