A scar runs down her face,
Blood trickling down the space.
The wound might be new, but the fight is old,
Was this how her story was supposed to unfold?
She used to be giddy, she used to be gay,
Glowed with hope and passion, her heart was bright as a day in May.
She was strong but now she’s just so frail,
Never knew how to quit, but now she no longer wants to play.
To concede defeat seems so alluring,
A peaceful bliss that would end all the suffering.
The urge is overwhelming, to give up all,
But something inside of her doesn’t let her make the call.
It’s the voice, telling her she was born to be great,
She was brave and she alone had the power to decide her fate.
Wiping away the blood, she got to her feet,
All the challenges, with a venturous smile she’ll meet.
She will fight, she won’t take flight,
She will strive, she will survive.
The fight is old, the fight is onerous,
But it is still hers.
Courageous, confident, capable — nothing will she fear.
And the world will know
For the queen is here.

Your uniqueness https://theteenagertoday.com/your-uniqueness/ Fri, 01 Jan 2021 04:30:00 +0000 http://theteenagertoday.com/?p=18759 Yes, they might be
But what are you without them?
Nothing but an ordinary person.
Your flaws are your uniqueness.

The moon has scars
The rose has thorns
The light has darkness
So do you.

Your scars don’t make you weak,
Your thorns don’t make you perilous,
Your darkness doesn’t make you evil,
Do they?

Those deep scars show how brave you are.
Those thorns show how beautiful you are above them.
That darkness shows how bright you are on other side.
Do you consider them as flaws?

Yes, they might be
But what are you without them?
Nothing but an ordinary person.
Your flaws are your uniqueness.

Dare to accept them.
Dare to show them.
Dare to embrace them.
Dare to be you!

“What makes you like my scars?”
The stars smiled widely,
As the moon waited for the answer eagerly.

The moon asked the stars,
“What makes you like my scars?”
The stars smiled widely,
As the moon waited for the answer eagerly.
“Your scars define your strength!
Your scars define your courage to fight
Even if the pain is too intense.”
The stars blushed,
The moon’s thoughts got shushed.
The stars exclaimed: “I love the way you are!
And your ability can’t be defined by a scar.”

Scars https://theteenagertoday.com/scars/ Tue, 16 Apr 2019 08:36:43 +0000 http://theteenagertoday.com/?p=13146 Right now I am looking at the moon, While sitting under the light of a million stars. I can feel the cool air against my skin, As I think about my own scars.

Right now I am looking at the moon
While sitting under the light of a million stars.
I can feel the cool air against my skin
As I think about my own scars.

‘Who gave them to me?’ isn’t the question
Nor is ‘when will they heal?’
But carrying them along with me for the rest of my life
Seems like a very big deal.

Are these scars a relieving bliss
Or is it pain that they actually bear?
Will they be the reason behind my smile,
Or will they be my worst fear?

These scars might make me strong
Or they might tear me apart
They might be my downfall
Or they might be a refreshing start.

The moon has scars too
But still it’s admired by everybody
Then maybe my scars are pure too
Then maybe my scars aren’t muddy.
